Broomfield Civic Chorus

joyfully serving our community in song

The Broomfield Civic Chorus is dedicated to providing our community with vocal music programs that include a variety of popular music. Our annual season includes two concerts, one in the winter, and another in the spring. During the year we also perform chorus music for Veteran’s Day, the Broomfield Holiday Tree Lighting, and Memorial Day. If you would like to participate with the chorus, check back here for information about rehearsal scheduling.

Concert History

“Words seem to me so ambiguous, so vague…in comparison with genuine music, which fills the soul with things a thousand times better than words.”

 —Felix Mendelssohn

Our Spring 2023 concert “Broadway Favorite Songs” was dedicated to the memory of Clark Scriven, music lover, singer and dedicated Chorus supporter, and included Singing’ In the Rain, Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’, I Whistle A Happy Tune, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Once Upon A Time, Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Make Me a Match, and On the Street Where You Live.

Our Winter 2022 Christmas concert, “Give Me an Old Fashioned Christmas,” featured a compilation of joyful and heartfelt music including Carols of Peace and Joy, The Gift, It’s Christmas Time, A Carol in Winter, and We Need A Little Christmas among other seasonal favorites. We had a wonderful time celebrating the holiday season together.

Spring is such an invigorating time of year, and we marked it with music that celebrated the several commemorations within this Season! We began with a special arrangement of Agnus Dei by composer Jay Althouse. Other selections celebrated: LOVE with a Jerome Kern medley that included Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, The Way You Look Tonight, and I’ve Told Every Little Star; ST. PATRICK’S DAY with an Irish Eyes Are Smiling medley; MEMORIAL DAY with I Sing A Song For America, and Our America medley; and AMERICANA with Simple Gifts and Going Home. We closed this special concert with May You Always and Sing (from Sesame Street.)

After a season on hiatus, the Broomfield Civic Chorus invited our community to It’s Christmas Once Again, a concert that sparkled with all the joyful anticipation of the holiday season. A jaunty arrangement of It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas set the mood, followed by The Christmas Waltz, Come On, Ring Those Bells, Santa Claus Rock, One Can Hear the Falling Snow and All on a Silent Night/ A Celtic Silent Night. Our holiday program closed with a warm Christmas blessing: May Love Be Yours At Christmas.

Among the music selections for our 2019 Christmas concert were: Christmas Goes Baroque, A Christmas Alleluia, Still a Bach Christmas, Mary Did You Know?, Ding Dong Merrily on High, A Celtic Noël, The Child Grew Strong, Christmas Grace, and The Stable Choir.
