Who We Are

The Broomfield Civic Chorus is a community organization offering opportunities for musical expression, civic participation, and friendship in Broomfield and the surrounding communities. We are a mixed voice choral group comprised of individuals of various backgrounds and experience who share a love of singing together. We are a volunteer, non-auditioned chorus and welcome those who want to join us in singing together.

The Broomfield Civic Chorus was founded by Elis-Barbara Schipper in 1988. Over the years our group has grown from the original 25 members to include as many as 40-45 singers. The Chorus continues to serve the Broomfield community in Colorado with seasonal concerts and commemorative performances since its founding. In June, 2007, through the dedication of our leadership and chorus members, we joined other area choruses in performing Fauré’s “Requiem” at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Upcoming Events

The Broomfield Civic Chorus will perform several festive holiday songs at the Broomfield Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 6, 2024.

Our Fall/Winter concert on December 8. 2024 will include a variety of holiday-themed and Christmas music. The concert will be held in the Ministry Center at the Presbyterian Church of Broomfield (map link) at 350 Main St. in Broomfield.
